ACT Test

The ACT test is a curriculum-based education and career planning tool for high school students.  It is a multiple-choice test that measures high school students’ readiness for college. 

What's on the ACT?

• Sections: English, reading, math, and science 
• Writing test: Optional 40-minute section that assesses writing skills 
• Scoring: Each section is scored on a scale of 1–36 
• Length: 2 hours and 55 minutes, or 3 hours and 35 minutes with the writing test
