ABOUT US

La Porte Independent School District covers 55 square miles in the cities of La Porte, Shoreacres, Morgan's Point, and portions of Deer Park.  Each of our 12 campuses, between 2015 and 2018, were either renovated or rebuilt entirely as a result of a $260 million bond approved by voters in 2014. More recently, in 2023, voters overwhelmingly approved a $235 million bond for infrastructural and technology improvements, as well as a new Bulldog Stadium and a development facility.

In addition to two National Blue Ribbon Schools, La Porte ISD is also the proud home of an Early Childhood Center that caters to the educational and nurturing needs of our youngest residents. Our performing and visual arts program consistently produces award winners in band, orchestra, choir, dance and acting. Speaking of acting, the La Porte High School musical is widely considered to be among the best productions in Texas – for more than half a century. We're also quite successful in our career programs, which have featured numerous state and national award winners in recent years.

Our Accelerated College Education program continues to grow in popularity, particularly because it enables students to graduate from La Porte High School while simultaneously earning an associate degree from San Jacinto College. The best part? Tuition and books are free for students. We also offer the AP Capstone program for academic research, and our list of AP Scholars grows every year.

In everything we do, La Porte ISD applies its mission of making students our number one priority. Some of those students have gone on to become professional actors or athletes, NCAA track champions (along with an Olympics gold medalist), local and state elected officials, teachers, medical professionals, entrepreneurs, and members of the U.S. Armed Forces.  Whatever your child's interest, odds are La Porte ISD has an offering.
