Board of Trustees member Melissa Crutcher has served on the board since November 2021. She is a proud College Park Cougar, Lomax Lobo, and class of ‘99 LPHS Bulldog alumna.
Melissa spent many years wanting to follow in the footsteps of her amazing teachers before ultimately deciding to get her BBA in Management and Marketing, however her desire to make a difference in students’ lives while supporting educators remained in her heart. “LPISD helped shape me into the person I am today, and I want to give back my time to our educators as well as contribute to meeting the needs of all our students to ensure they have every opportunity to thrive.” Melissa and her husband Talon have a senior at the Academy of Viola Dewalt, and a 4th grader and kindergartener at Leo A. Rizzuto Elementary, all unique individuals who inspire her to consider the diverse backgrounds, living situations, learning abilities, behaviors, and personalities of our student population while serving in her role.
Melissa enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, singing, reading, and volunteering, and serves as a La Porte Rotarian, La Porte Education Foundation Board member, Rizzuto Elementary PTO Treasurer, Campus Life LPISD Community Advisor, Lemonade Day Mentor, Co-Miss Sylvan Beach Pageant Director, and volunteers through the La Porte-Bayshore Chamber of Commerce on the Hook, Line, & Sinker Fishing Tournament and Workforce Development committees, as well serves as the Chairwoman for the New Teacher Luncheon and First Responder’s events.
