La Porte High School’s boys and girls varsity cross country teams will represent District 20-5A at the UIL Regional Cross Country Meet in Huntsville after outrunning several of their district counterparts at the Oct. 15 district meet in La Porte.

The boys’ team bettered the closest competitor by 39 points in grabbing the third-place slot, while the girls also placed third, 28 points ahead of the fourth-place team.

Four additional runners qualified individually: Gianna Palomarez and Mykenzie Willis for the girls, and Adam Alvarez and Thomas Green for the boys.

The UIL Regional Meet is slated for Oct. 26-27 at Kate Barr Ross Park in Huntsville. La Porte’s teams are scheduled to run on Oct. 27.
