La Porte High School FFA members earn Texas FFA Lone Star Degree

Five La Porte High School FFA members were awarded the prestigious Texas FFA Lone Star Degree during the Texas FFA State Convention held this week in Fort Worth.
The 2026 Lone Star Degree recipients are Everly King, Tristan Liceaga, Brooke McBee, Tatum McClain and Elijah Wicker.
The Lone Star Degree is the highest honor the Texas FFA Association bestows upon student members. It recognizes outstanding achievement in agricultural education, leadership, supervised agricultural experience programs and community service.
To qualify, recipients must be active FFA members for at least two years, complete extensive agricultural science coursework, maintain a successful SAE program, demonstrate leadership through FFA involvement, participate in activities beyond the chapter level and complete at least 25 hours of community service while maintaining a satisfactory academic record.
The Texas FFA Association presents the Lone Star Degree annually during the Texas FFA State Convention to members who exemplify excellence in agricultural education and leadership.
