La Porte ISD Names 2024-25 Principals of the Year

Tracy Greenwood and Linda Hyde have been named as the 2024-25 La Porte ISD Principals of the Year for secondary and elementary, respectively.
Greenwood is principal of James H. Baker Sixth Grade Campus; Hyde is principal at Heritage Elementary School. District administrators select honorees based on several criteria, including a multitude of attributes that contribute to staff and student success.
Region 4 ESC will honor Greenwood and Hyde, among other Greater Houston principals, at a luncheon later this year.
Tracy Greenwood
Mrs. Tracy Greenwood became the principal of the James H. Baker Sixth Grade Campus in 2024. She previously served as principal of Lomax Elementary and assistant principal at Heritage Elementary and later College Park Elementary. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mrs. Greenwood served in a variety of roles in LPISD, including classroom teacher, interventionist, and literacy coach. Mrs. Greenwood earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and a master’s degree in administration from Lamar University.
Linda Hyde
Mrs. Linda Hyde has been principal at Heritage Elementary since 2022, before which she was an assistant principal there for four years. Between her role as assistant principal and principal at Heritage Elementary she served as principal of La Porte Elementary for one year. Prior to joining Heritage, she was an assistant principal at Lomax Elementary and Bayshore Elementary. Before becoming an administrator, Mrs. Hyde served as a media specialist, math and science specialist, enrichment specialist, and classroom teacher, all in LPISD. Mrs. Hyde is a proud La Porte High School graduate! She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston – Clear Lake and a master’s degree in administration from Lamar University.
