The La Porte ISD Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the approval of a $100 stipend for district teachers and librarians. The Board unanimously approved the stipend at a special meeting on August 29.   

The decision is intended to help offset the personal expenses that educators often incur for classroom materials. This initiative underscores the district’s commitment to supporting its dedicated educators and enhancing the educational experience for students.  

"We recognize the tremendous effort and dedication of our teachers and librarians," said Board President Danny Hanks. "This stipend is a small but meaningful way to show our appreciation and provide tangible support as our teachers and librarians continue to inspire and educate our students."  

Added Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson, “This is another example of the Board going above and beyond to show their gratitude and respect for the awesome jobs that our teachers and librarians do. I am grateful that the Board recognizes and honors how much our educators give of themselves.”  

The stipend will be allocated in the Sept. 30 payroll.
