La Porte ISD Approved as a Texas TIA District

La Porte Independent School District has been officially approved as a Texas Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) district, marking a major advancement in the district’s ongoing commitment to elevate the teaching profession and invest in educator excellence.
Earning TIA validation means La Porte ISD has met the rigorous standards required by the Texas Education Agency to designate and reward highly effective teachers. This distinction allows the district to provide additional state-funded compensation to qualifying educators while strengthening long-term recruitment and retention efforts.
In the coming months, the district will work closely with TEA to complete a final series of data verification steps to ensure full accuracy and compliance. Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, eligible teachers will have their TIA designation added to their State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) record for five years. Teachers who earn a designation will receive stipends funded by the state, with award amounts determined by their designation level and the socioeconomic profile of their campus.
